Balthazar Cornas Casimir 2020

Franck Balthazar is one of the most highly sought-after winemakers of the Northern Rhône. Rigorously traditional winemaking: all whole clusters, no new oak, and as little sulfur as possible. Cornas Cuvée Casimir is named in honor of Franck’s grandfather. It comes from two sources: the old vine Syrah in Les Mazards combined with more recent plantings in Lègre. Powerful yet elegant, it shows juicy, bitter cherries and cassis notes, framed by typical whole-cluster savory spices.
