Cascina delle Rose Barbaresco Tre Stelle 2020

Cascina delle Rose is a small, family-owned estate situated on the crest of the Rio Sordo cru, near its border with Tre Stelle. The winery was founded by Giovanna Rizzolio, but, since 2017, has been in the hands of her children, Riccardo and Davide Sobrino.

Tre Stelle is one of three cru Barbaresco’s produced by the domaine; in fact, the Rizzolios are the only estate to produce a Tre Stelle bottling. The wine is fermented on its skins for three weeks with pumping over, before 18 months aging in large oak casks, and further bottle aging prior to release. Tre Stelle tends to be lithe and more taut on release, with higher-toned fruit than the Rio Sordo or Marcorino bottlings.
