Clos du Jaugueyron Margaux Nout 2019

Margaux ‘Nout’ is Michel Théron’s Merlot-dominant Margaux bottling, named for Nout, the Egyptian goddess of the sky. ‘Nout’ comes from twenty-five year old vines planted in gravel-clay soil in the lieu-dit of Tertre. Roughly 55% Merlot to 45% Cabernet Sauvignon. Partially destemmed — more stems than usual in 2019 due to the solar vintage — and fermented in small to large concrete vessels. Aged 1 year in barrique and foudre, about 50% new, and returned to concrete before bottling with a very small dose of sulfur.
