Garage Wine Co. Garnacha 'Bagual Vineyard' 2019

From a single hectare of 150 year old Garnacha vines in Chile’s Maule Valley, this vineyard is not only dry farmed organically by hand, but by horse as well.  Garage Wine Company is the brainchild of Derek Mossman Knapp and his wife Pilar Miranda and oenologist Alvaro Peña, who set out in 2001 to resuscitate old vines and the communities around them. After hand harvesting, the grapes are permitted to spontaneously ferment in open containers, are punched down and aged in old oak barrels for 2 years.
