Kloof Street Swartland Chenin Blanc 2024

Kloof Street in South Africa’s Riebeek-Kasteel is where husband and wife winemakers Chris and Andrea Mullineux made their first vintage.  After meeting in France working for different wineries, Andrea left her native California to join Chris in Swartland, north of Cape Town where he was born. The 40 year old and over Chenin vines they hand harvest from are sustainably farmed at three different parcels composed of either shale and schist or decomposed ancient granite.  After chilling and whole bunch pressing the juice is racked and separated into tanks and neutral french barrels where they spontaneously ferment for six weeks, before final blending and bottling.
