Pepiere Muscadet 'La Pepie' 2025

In 2019, Rémi Branger and Gwénaëlle Croix took over the reins of Domaine de la Pépière in the western Loire from the legendary Marc Olivier who retired after building the domaine up to 42 organically farmed hectares from the initial 7 he inherited from his grandfather (who sold his wine by the barrel in nearby Nantes). “La Pépie" is from 100% 40+ year old melon de bourgogne non-clonal vines, a blend of estate fruit from all of Pépière's terroirs. It is harvested by hand and allowed to ferment spontaneously, with direct pressing within 2 hours of picking, racked within 12 hours and aged on the lees in steel for 8 months until bottling.
