Schatzel Steiner Silvaner 2021

Kai Schatzel is an out of the ordinary producer in Rheinhessen. Old vines of Sylvaner, grapes are foot-crushed and macerated for about 3 days. Ambient yeast fermentation. Laissez-faire malolactic conversion. Aged for 23 months on the lees in barrels under flor. No fining, no filtration. Bottled without added SO2. Salty, savory and nutty, with lovely notes of pear, white flowers and wellow spice.
